Lady Catherine Cavendish (1665-1712) was the daughter of Henry Cavendish, 2nd Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Frances Pierrepont. She married Thomas Tufton, 6th Earl of Thanet in 1684, becoming Lady Thanet (Mosley, Charles, editor. Burke’s Peerage, Baronetage & Knightage, 107th edition, Volume 1 (Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.: Burke’s Peerage Genealogical Books Ltd, 2003), page 1065).
