Misaubin has a high regard for Sloane. He asks that Sloane visit one of his female patients. Misaubin can be reached at his residence. John Misaubin was a French physician who settled in London some time after 1697. He married the daughter of Louis XIV’s apothecary and became a licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1719. He left no writings, but is mentioned in contemporaneous literature (Norman Moore, Misaubin, John (16731734), rev. Michael Bevan, Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004; online edn, May 2006 [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/18819, accessed 17 July 2013]).
