Mrs Stouer 'discharged this uncommon substance [from] a very thin man'. The man has a healthy appetite, but has been vomiting up the substance for the past two years. He has 'an allmost continual pain in his stomach'. The substance was sent to Helmes' father three days after it was vomited up. Helmes' father is an apothecary.
