Job Baster, also Hiob Baster, (1711 – 1775) was a Dutch physician and naturalist who devoted himself almost entirely to the study of medicine and natural history. Soon after the visit to London mentioned in letter 4491, he became good friends with Hans Sloane and other London scientists.
