Abbé Huber has made the trip to England. He would like to view Sloane’s cabinet of curiosities, which is admired by all of Europe. Huber understands that Sloane is kind to foreigners. He is writing a book on Russia, including information on the reigns that preceded ‘Czar Pierre’, its ‘Forme du Gouvernement’, and geography. Huber is going to contact ‘Mr. De Lile’ (Joseph Nicholas De Lisle) in St Petersburg to gather more information. He recalls viewing two petrified corpses (deux corps humains petrifiés) in Marseilles.
