Joseph Ames

Joseph Ames (bap.1687, d.1759) bibliographer and antiquary, elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1743. He was admitted to the Society of antiquaries and contributed to their Thursday meetings. He frequented university libraries as well as those of the members of both societies.
