Treatment
Previous Treatment:
Under Sloane's direction Mrs. Pearse was tapped by Mr. Cheselden.
Ongoing Treatment:
Response:The tapping discharged 9 gallons, or 72 1/2 pounds, of coffee coloured water. The swelling had improved but the stomach contracted slowly. She had a better appetite and could walk about her room. She only drank and urinated a little. She and Howman worried that the swelling would return. Howman asked Sloane's opinion as to diuretics and emmenagogues.
