Pratt apologizes for not being able to call on Sloane during his stay in London. He says that he was simply too hurried and could not see many of the people he wanted to. Samuel Pratt (1658-1723) was the Dean of Rochester from 1706. He contributed to the recoinage debate and published a two-volume Latin grammar (Hugh de Quehen, ‘Pratt, Samuel (1658–1723)’, Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004 [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/22709, accessed 10 July 2014]).
