Sibbald thanks Sloane and the Royal Society for the ‘Prodronius Danubianus’. The Royal Society’s interest in his observations regarding whales from a decade ago have inspired him to write more on the subject. When the work is complete he plans to dedicate it to the Royal Society. Sibbald was a physician and a geographer. He was physician to James VII (Charles W. J.
