Sibbald informs Sloane of a book auction that is to take place in January. Dr Gordon, ‘well known to [the] Societie’, has a nephew in London who is tasked with delivering a catalogue of the books in the sale to Sloane. Sibbald asks Sloane to send news of recent publications with Mr Knaplock. Sir Robert Sibbald was a physician and a geographer. He was physician to James VII (Charles W. J.
