Thoresby asks whether Sloane received his last letter, wherein he requested information on the number of births and burials in Hardwood Parish. He wants to purchase recent issues of the Philosophical Transactions ‘at the easyest rates’. Thoresby was an antiquary and topographer. He expanded his fathers Musaeum Thoresbyanum impressively, and his collection brought him into discussion with many important political and scholarly figures (P. E.
