Chamberlayne writes that Montfaucon’s patron was pleased with his presentation to the Royal Society. He mentions plans to have weekly meetings promoting Christian knowledge at Crane Court. John Chamberlayne was a translator and editor specializing in modern languages which he studied at the University of Leiden.
