Transcription
Patras recommends his nephew, who will be staying in London for a while. He hopes that Sloane will help him find a place to train as a surgeon. Patras had the honour of knowing Sloane while he was at Montpellier. He promises to return Sloane’s favours if he ever returns to France. The medical cases were communicated to him by Mr de Vaubonnais.

The patient died of chest problems. An autopsy revealed that the left side of the heart was rather large. The blood vessels were then examined. This confounded the surgeons of the village. Patras' anatomical notes follow, describing the condition of individual parts of the heart.
