Hyde inquires about some transcriptions made of Persepolis in the latest Philosophical Transactions. He would like to know the sources used and possibly acquire copies as he was was planning on writing a book about Persia’s ancient religion, Zoroastrianism. Hyde was the librarian of the Bodleian Library from 1665 to 1701. He possessed excellent linguistic skills in eastern languages, especially ancient Persian and Arabic (P. J.
