Hyde thanks Sloane for his last letter and willingness to aid in the tracking down of documents related to Zoroastrianism cited in a Philosophical Transactions article. He mentions there are some books he would like to peruse. Hyde was the librarian of the Bodleian Library from 1665 to 1701. He possessed excellent linguistic skills in eastern languages, especially ancient Persian and Arabic (P. J.
