Sherard thanks Sloane for letting him use the volumes of ‘Plucknet’ and requests the others. He ‘added ye Table or page to most of ye plants yt are any ways difficult, once at least, for there are many duplicates’. He adds that ‘Mr Dubois threatens to come & dine wth you, some day next week’. Sherard was a botanist and cataloguer. He worked for the Turkish Company at Smyrna where he collected botanical specimens and antiques (D. E.
