Garengeot writes on behalf of the bearer, Charles Denis. He is a surgeon who plans on establishing himself in London. Garengeot hopes that Sloane will accept an anatomical book he authored. It is his fourth publication. Some of his works have been translated into English. His second book is on surgery and his third is on the anatomy of humans and dogs. He hopes to become a member of the Royal Society. René Jacques Croissant de Garengeot (1688-1759) was a French surgeon. He was Surgeon-Major of the Régiment du Roy and the Physician-in-Ordinary of the Roi au Châtelet.
