Treatment
Previous Treatment:
For cessation of menses: bathing twice a day in warmed spirits of wine for three weeks, along with marshmallow ointment. Took purges of Cream Tarter; Elixer proprietani; mercurial purges; Ethiope mineral [illegible]; tinct. Mellampodin in balm water; bitter infusion
Ongoing Treatment:purges of Cream Tarter; bitter infusion. f. 99 is also a detailed prescription for Mrs Arabela Eyres by J.M.
Response:Bathing in warmed spirits of wine and the marshmallow ointment made the humour transfer from one leg to the other. The purges of Cream Tarter agreed with her well and made her hungry. The mercurial purges, Ethiope mineral [illegible] and tinct. Mellampodin in balm water, disagreed with her stomach and so was stopped. Her stools, twice daily, were soft ever since the latter treatment. She was very sick and vomited each day. Described pain as "weight like a beark down in the privy parts."
