Gordon sends his best to Sloane and to the Royal Society. He writes on behalf of his younger brother, who studies surgery and pharmacy, and wishes to make the acquaintance of someone like Sloane. Gordon’s brother wants to meet Mr Cowper. Patrick Gordon (d. 1702) was a Naval Chaplain on the HMS Salisbury.
