Krieg thanks Sloane for his favours and apologizes for not sending him any natural curiosities. He is traveling to Strasbourg to spend a couple of months with his brother, but has been delayed from leaving by war and his medical practice. Krieg discusses Mr Charleton’s death and how the latter willed Sloane to dispose of his collection. Krieg asks what Sloane intends to do with it. He considers the use of metals in healing. David Krieg (1669-1710) was a garrison physician based in Riga, Latvia. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1699 with the support of Sir Hans Sloane (https://collections.royalsociety.org/DServe.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=Show.tcl&dsqDb=Persons&dsqPos=0&dsqSearch=%28Surname%3D%27krieg%27%29).
