Transcription
Hermann hoped to be in England already, but an unfortunate accident forces her to stay in the Netherlands through the winter. She has sent a number of plants and drafts from Ceylon to Mr Sherard ‘in March Lane’. She hints at Sloane purchasing the collection, noting that it is valued at £100. Anna Hermann was the wife of Leiden-based physician and botanist Paul Hermann (1646-1695) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Hermann).
