Thoresby has not heard from Sloane since 1704. He is not sure if his letters regarding Roman coins made it to Sloane. Thoresby has not seen any Philosophical Transactions since that year and asks Sloane to send copies to him. He asks if Dr Lister has written anything regarding the Roman monument found at York. Thoresby was an antiquary and topographer. He expanded his fathers Musaeum Thoresbyanum impressively, and his collection brought him into discussion with many important political and scholarly figures (P. E.
