Sheridan asks Sloane for one more visit. William Sheridan (1635-1711) was a nonjuring clergyman and Bishop of Kilmore and Ardagh for the Church of Ireland. He moved to London in the 1690s and lived near other nonjurors, impoverished and in poor health (Richard Bagwell, rev. James McGuire, “Sheridan, William (1635-1711)”, Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (Oxford University Press, 2004) [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/25373, accessed 28 Jan 2010]).
