De Spanheim requests that Sloane lend him two Latin books. Ezechiel de Spanheim (1629-1710) was born in Geneva and studied at the University of Leyden. He became Professor of Rhetoric in Geneva in 1650. He tutored Charles I Louis, Elector of Palatine’s son and became a fellow of the Royal Society in 1679.
