Dr Stuart, the bearer, has a good reputation. Boerhaave recommends him to Sloane. He asks that Sloane use his influence to secure a position for Stuart. Herman Boerhaave was a Dutch physician, botanist, and humanist famous for his teaching at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leiden.
