Transcription
Leibniz writes of his dispute with Keill. For further information, see: Sloane MS 4042 fols. 256-257. He asks that he be allowed to defend himself before a tribunal. Leibniz admits that his work is similar to Newton’s, but assures Sloane they worked independently. Leibniz was a German mathematician and philosopher who contributed significantly to the development of each field among others (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gottfried_Wilhelm_Leibniz).
