Ruysch has tasked Molinaar, a sailor, with delivering a basket of botanical and geological specimens from Africa. Insects and butterflies from Amboina, an island in the East Indies, are included therein as well. He asks if Sloane received the book. Frederik Ruysch was a Dutch botanist and anatomist who came to prominence for his study of the lymphatic system. He preserved many of his anatomical specimens, some of which were human, and his collection of curiosities was visited by the likes of Peter the Great (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederik_Ruysch).
