Transcription
Boerhaave congratulates Sloane on his Baronetcy. He thinks it unfortunate that the Royal Society lost the opportunity to publish Ruysch’s ‘Thesaurum anatomicum’. Herman Boerhaave was a Dutch physician, botanist, and humanist famous for his teaching at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leiden. He was a fellow of the Academie des sciences and the Royal Society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herman_Boerhaave).
