Caesar Ruffia, the publisher of Ruysch’s Thesaurus, bought most of what was for sale at auction. Boerhaave apologizes for not being able to offer more information on what was sold. Herman Boerhaave was a Dutch physician, botanist, and humanist famous for his teaching at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Leiden. He was a fellow of the Academie des sciences and the Royal Society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herman_Boerhaave).
