Slare hopes that Sloane will be amiable toward his friend from Ireland, a physician and professor of medicine in Dublin. He asks that Sloane introduce the man to the Royal Society. Frederick Slare was a physician, chemist, and fellow of the Royal Society. He published 10 papers in the Philosophical Transactions and much else besides (Lawrence M.
