Yonge asks Sloane to present the enclosed medical cases to the Royal Society. James Yonge was a surgeon and physician of Plymouth with experience as a ship’s surgeon.     The man was an alcoholic and developed 'Tumours of his Legs and thighs, and at length of the whoel Belly'. He had trouble breathing, there was blood in his urine, he had white stools, all symptoms of what Yonge calls 'Cachexy'.
