Transcription
Dr Lursenius is to wait on Sloane at the Grecian Coffeehouse. He would like to view Sloane’s cabinet. Sherard has ‘tookd out the specimen’ Signor Micheli requested as well as ‘a sheet of Mr Petivers Concordia Graminum’. Petiver is not going to ‘publish his 50 Nova Genera till he is satisfied about the English plants of those tribes’. Sherard was a botanist and cataloguer. He worked for the Turkish Company at Smyrna where he collected botanical specimens and antiques (D. E.
