    The Earl of Stair has asked Gwyllym to request a favour of Sloane, who must say whether he 'thought [him] in any degree mad when [he] was [his] patient about two years past'. Gwyllym is to give Sloane's answer to 'the two houses and the Lord Mayor of London'. This information is needed to clear up a situation in which Lord Stair had gone to the Spanish Embassy in Paris and requested asylum.
