Fuller sends ‘a Sea Bird’ caught by a shepherd and his dog. The bird drowned after it was captured. It is a ‘Large specled Diver’ so far as Fuller can tell. He referenced ‘Willowbys Ornithology’ before classifying it. John Fuller (1706-1755) was Sir Hans Sloane’s grandson. He worked as an ironmaster, gunfounder, and eventually became MP of Boroughbridge in Yorkshire (J. S. Hodgkinson, Fuller family (per. c.16501803), Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, Oxford University Press, 2004; online edn, May 2005 [http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/47494, accessed 24 Aug 2011]).
