Plume has read over the bill and approves of it. Mead is waiting for further instructions from Plume. The College of Physicians understand that the bill is going to be ‘brought in as a private bill’. Therefore, it has to ‘be printed before it could be presented’. Plume, however, presented it as a public bill and is going to ‘speak privately to the Speaker tomorrow’. Mead concludes: ‘I desired he [Plume] would doe it as from himself & not as haveing spoke with any of the College thereon’. James Mead was a solicitor.
