Garengeot received two letters from Jean Douglas, which informed him that Sloane recommended him to the Royal Society. He was honoured and promises to uphold its reputation. Charles Denis has sent one of his anatomical works to the Royal Society. René Jacques Croissant de Garengeot (1688-1759) was a French surgeon. He was Surgeon-Major of the Régiment du Roy and the Physician-in-Ordinary of the Roi au Châtelet.
