The Bulifon brothers, printers in Naples, are the bearers of the letter. Sherard asks if Sloane can update the Builfons on the latest events in London and arrange a viewing of Charleton’s cabinet. The latest Act of Parliament ‘fryhtend [Sherard] from buying for books’. He heard Ray’s Appendix was published and more volumes are on the way. Sherard asks Sloane to provide the Bulifons with a contact in Oxford. Sherard was a botanist and cataloguer. He worked for the Turkish Company at Smyrna where he collected botanical specimens and antiques (D. E.
