Transcription
Ann Cummings writes to Sloane about her last letter to him hinting at her unhappy situation due to the loss she sustained (the death of her husband), and she received some favours from particular friends, yet that is not enough to bring her children because some of them are so young. she says she is not writing to Sloane expecting anything from him, but asks him to use his influence with “persons of high character”. She mentions that she is recovering from a long and dangerous sickness. She has a small apartment at Mr Walkers at the corner of Old Jury, opposite of Coleman Street. Ann Cummings, widow of Presbyterian Minister John Cummings.
