Wilmot was going to read the lecture ‘at ye College’, but he is willing to present it to the public if Sloane agrees. Sir Edward Wilmot (1693-1787) was a physician. He was admitted a Candidate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1725 and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1730. Wilmot was appointed Physician Extraordinary to the Queen in 1731 and, later, Physician-in-Ordinary to Her Majesty, King George III, and Frederick, Prince of Wales. He was created Baronet in 1759 (http://munksroll.rcplondon.ac.uk/Biography/Details/4811).
