Charles Cadogan (1685-1776), 2nd Baron Cadogan was the younger brother of William Cadogan, Earl Cadogan, who was an army officer and diplomat. Charles was an army officer, elected MP for Reading in 1716, and married Sir Hans Sloane’s daughter Elizabeth in 1717.
