Charlett was elected Master of University College at Oxford in 1692 and held that post until his death in 1722. Charlett used the mastership to gain influence, especially through persistent letter-writing to numerous correspondents, sharing the latest literary, political, and scholarly gossip

James Cuninghame (fl. 1698-1709) became a member of the Royal Society in 1699. He traveled the world as a trader and collected information, plant specimens, and curiosities until his death in 1709

John King (1652-1732) was a Church of England clergyman, who married William Durham’s daughter Ann. When she passed away he married Elizabeth Aris, with whom he had six children. His son, also named John King, became a classical scholar.

Sarah Churchill (nee Jenyns) (1660-1744) married John Churchill in during the winter of 1677/8. She was a close friend and confidante of Queen Anne. Her influence waned with the accession of George I to the throne.

Peter Barwick (1619-1705) was a physician. He served Charles II in 1651 and was censor of the College of Physicians in 1674, 1684, and 1687. Sir Hans Sloane was one of the executors of Barwick’s will.
