In letter 4219 one W.M Hay write to James Petiver to convey his sorrow at being unable to fulfill Petiver’s request but his availability to sail to East Indies as early as next Friday, if needed.
Aside from this letter, no other information can be found to identify this W.M Hay.

Sir Edward Wilmot (1693-1787) was a physician. He was admitted a Candidate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1725 and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1730. Wilmot was appointed Physician Extraordinary to the Queen in 1731 and, later, Physician-in-Ordinary to Her Majesty, King George III, and Frederick, Prince of Wales. He was created Baronet in 1759.
