Sir John Floyer was a physician, advocate of cold bathing, and advised Dr Samuel Johnson, when the latter was a child, to visit Queen Anne to cure his king’s evil, which was done 1714.

John Moore (1646–1714) was Bishop of Norwich (1691–1707) and Bishop of Ely (1707–1714) and was a famous bibliophile whose vast collection of books forms the surviving “Royal Library” within Cambridge University Library.

Maurice Thompson, 2nd Baron Haversham, (1675-1745) was a British politician and soldier. He assumed the title of baron and joined the House of Lords after the death of his father John Thompson, 1st Baron Haversham, in 1710. He also served as Treasurer of the Excise between 1717 and 1718.
